Lawrence Bender has made a name for himself in Hollywood but not among movie fans. Bender is a film producer known for working alongside Quentin Tarantino. He has also hosted many fundraising parties in Los Angeles. He was recognized by the ACLU for his efforts towards altruistic goals. He has also been recognized by the Academy with 29 total nominations for his movies.

Before entering the film industry, Lawrence Bender made a real effort to become a civil engineer. Inspired by his grandfather, Bender attended the University of Maine, obtaining a degree in civil engineering and finding a passion for dance.

Tarantino and Bender created A Band A Part Productions together, creating a large catalog of great movies under the company. The last film to have A Band A Part listed in the production credits was Inglourious Basterds.

Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds is an over-the-top blend of drama and comedy. The movie is about an expert team of American soldiers during World War II. The team consists of self proclaimed master Nazi killers and a British actress who is currently acting as a spy.

The actress is assisting the team in attending a movie premier. At the premier, with the help of the actress, the American soldiers plan to take out a very prominent Nazi target.

Things don’t go as planned when the rendezvous spot chosen by the actress turns out to be an underground Nazi bar. The actress is exposed as a spy when her body guard displays three fingers on his hand with the index, middle, and ring finger instead of the thumb, index, and middle finger. The Nazis in the room notice that the body guard is showing three in the American tendency, giving them away.

In promotion for the movie, Lawrence Bender made the rounds, doing interviews. Lawrence Bender shared his experiences working with Tarantino, talking about the script sharing process. Bender claims that Tarantino doesn’t share his scripts with him, electing to instead show him individual scenes.

In an interview with Den of Geek, Bender talks about his experiences with An Inconvenient Truth as well. This movie was an eye-opening look at the real effects of climate change. He shared his thoughts on Al Gore and stressed the importance of the film.
