End Citizens United Supporting Candidates From The Democratic Side

Currently, more and more candidates (especially from the Democratic side) are foregoing PAC – political action committee contributions and are instead focusing on grassroots donations made in small amounts of less than $250. While the trend is not new it is becoming more normalized. End Citizens United supports just the candidates that rejected corporate PAC money.

The organization aims to change the rigged political system, and according to their reports, there were a minimum of 185 Democratic candidates who refused to accept corporate PAC donations for the 2018 election cycle. About 45% of the candidates ended up winning their primaries. The candidates are now supported by End Citizens United, which announced in October 2018 that they raised more than $7 million from small contributions for the candidates that they endorsed. Tiffany Muller, who is the President and Executive Director of End Citizens United stated that the grassroots fundraising number represent the intense passion that Americans have in order to reshape the power structure so that the government is responsive to the people’s will, and not the special interests. In addition, she state that the organization’s grassroots members are donors and also proof positive that there is an alternative to the funds brought on by the Big Money machine. The boost experienced by the fundraising will allow their candidates to spend time talking with people instead of spending hours with corporate special interests. She expressed gratitude for the organization’s grassroots donors and the support they showed for reform.
